Water Tank division
The Water Tank division is the leading entity of New Trade Links.  NTL represents the internationally renowned manufacture AYS-NIKKO for Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) sectional water tanks. Already well established through out the Middle East, Singapore and Malaysia, NTL are the sole agency for AYS products due to their unparalleled quality and durability in extreme environments.

The Sheet Mould Compound (SMC) corrosion resistant GRP material comes exclusively from Bridgestone (Japan) the worlds leading manufacturer of GRP products. Similarly, the manufacturing is done using Nikko Japan technology by AYS Metal products & Engineering (Malaysia) at their ISO 9001:2000 certified facilities.
AYS Metal Products & Engineering
AYS-NIKKO Tank utilises Sheet Mould Compound (SMC) in their production process. This is a polyester compound in sheet format with low shrink characteristics and durable physical properties. This compound has international approval for use in potable water applications. AYS-NIKKO Tanks manufacture their panels using the Hot Press Moulding Method. Based on simple technology, SMC Moulding uses a Glass Fiber Materials for the press to ensure superior durability and strength in the production process. Under laboratory controlled environments, the press exerts a force of up to 600 tons to imprint the panels.

Advantages of AYS-NIKKO Tanks (SMC)
  • SMC Moulding done at 140°C temperature.
  • Moulded under high pressure of 45 Kgf/cm2 pressures.
  • Excellent UV resistance which prevents growth of micro-organisms or algae.
  • High strength, excellent durability with stable construction methods.
  • Uniform panel shape and finishing
  • Dense, smooth finish allows effective cleaning and resistance to bacteriological growth
Disadvantage of other Tanks (using cold cured or Hand lay-up method).
  • De-lamination may occur under exposure to direct sun light.
  • Panels have non uniform finishing with blistering results on panel surface.
  • Panels are not homogeneous with variable strength.
  • No resistance to UV light
  • Overall poor performance in extreme conditions.
